Insulate your home with Thermafleece Sheepswool
When it comes to building insulation, there is no better all-rounder than Thermafleece sheep’s wool insulation.
Made from locally sourced British sheep’s wool, Thermafleece reduces the amount of energy lost from any building, which in turn, reduces your energy consumption and carbon footprint - in other words, your building stays warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
At National Insulation Supplies, we sell a wide collection of Thermafleece Cosywool Roll products whether you’re looking to save money or achieve the best thermal performance possible. Our range includes the following sizes:
These are easy to install and should be used within either timber frame walls or a frame on the inside of a solid wall.
Why should I buy Thermafleece?
- High-Perfomance Thermal Insulation - The wool-rich blend offers excellent thermal performance with a thermal conductivity rating of 0.039 W/mK. It’s designed to stop heat from leaving your home in the winter and prevent heat from entering in the summer, which means you’ll be using less energy and ultimately, have much lower energy bills.
- Sustainable Insulation - Thermafleece is made from sheep’s wool; a locally-grown and sourced material, which, unlike synthetic insulation materials, is natural & renewable. At the end of its lifespan, the wool component can be recycled where it will biodegrade.
- Acoustic Performance - Thermafleece is designed with excellent soundproofing properties to handle loud noises in echoey rooms, which makes it an ideal choice for acoustic insulation. It’s comparable to the best rock-based insulation quilts out there. This has been tested in accordance with ISO 354:1985 / BS EN 20354:1993.
- Breathable - As it’s made from natural & breathable fibre (sheep’s wool), it helps create and maintain a much healthier indoor environment as it excels in moisture management.
- Affordable - Designed to reduce the upfront cost of wool-based insulation, CosyWool lets you save as much money as possible whilst reducing your energy bills in the process.
- High-quality - Manufactured and supplied to the highest standards under ISO 9001 qms, Thermafleece is guaranteed to last the lifetime of the building it’s installed in.
- Long Lasting - CosyWool features a long-lasting lofting agent which ensures its durability, fire stability and structural integrity.
- Convenient installation - As it uses natural sheep wool fibres, it’s completely safe to handle and install. It’s also easy to install, fitting in between timber joists with ease.
Which insulation is right for me?
Finding the right insulation for your home can be a tricky task - luckily, we know we’re experts in the topic.
Choosing the right width - 370mm or 570mm?
If your loft has joist widths of 400mm (this is common in the North of England), the 370mm wide insulation will be better suited for it.
If your loft has joist widths wider than 400mm, the 570mm wide insulation will be more appropriate.
Choosing the right thickness - is thicker better?
Generally speaking, the thicker the insulation, the better the thermal performance. So if you’re looking to keep your home as warm as possible and stop as much energy leaving your home as possible, it’s best to use the thickest insulation possible - such as:
- 370mm Wide 140mm Thick
- 570mm Wide 140mm Thick
Insulating your loft with Thermafleece
Thermafleece offers a range of thickness options, including 50mm, 75mm, 100mm, 140mm, or 150mm, catering to various insulation values you may require.
Its superior thermal conductivity, exceeding that of fibreglass, not only enhances energy efficiency but also contributes to a tranquil, healthier indoor atmosphere.
This eco-friendly material is not only fully recyclable but it’s also manufactured to meet the stringent ISO 9001 quality management and ISO 14001 environmental management standards.
To comply with minimum thickness standards, installers frequently employ a method of double-layering or triple laying loft roll insulation. This involves laying the initial layer conventionally between joists and then positioning the second layer at a 90-degree angle, much like building a Jenga tower. This will prevent any cold bridging and cold spots throughout your loft further enhancing efficiency.
Insulating your walls with Thermafleece
Thermafleece presents thickness options of 50mm, 75mm, 100mm, 140mm, or 150mm for internal wall insulation between studs, ensuring flexibility to meet the diverse insulation values you may require.
Its thermal conductivity surpasses standard typical fibreglass, enhancing energy efficiency and indoor comfort levels. With added acoustic benefits and exceptional breathability, Thermafleece stands as a premium, eco-conscious choice that adheres to ISO 9001 quality management and ISO 14001 environmental management standards, ensuring both quality and environmental responsibility.
Why should you choose Thermafleece over alternative fibreglass insulation brands?
When considering Thermafleece versus fibreglass alternatives, several key advantages stand out.
Firstly, Thermafleece employs sustainable sheepswool with a lifespan of approximately 60 years, maintaining its shape better than man-made insulations. It also prioritises environmental friendliness in manufacturing, offering a more eco-friendly option compared to direct alternative fibreglass insulation.
Additionally, Thermafleece's specialised Cosywool insulation boasts superior thermal conductivity at 0.039 W/mK, outperforming typical fibreglass brands at 0.044 W/mK. This ensures enhanced energy efficiency and insulation performance, making Thermafleece the preferred choice for environmentally conscious consumers seeking reliable and sustainable insulation solutions at a direct price alternative to standard fibreglass insulation.
