Where can wood fibre insulation be used?

Wood fibre insulation can be used in multiple applications including walls, floors and roofs. STEICO products can be used between timber frames and pitched roofs. STEICO flex 036 is a flexible fibre slab and STEICO universal dry is a combined sarking, sheathing and render board.

What do we mean by PEFC certified?

PEFC chain of custody certification tracks certified raw material from the forest, through processing and manufacturing, all the way to the final product. It ensures that products carrying a PEFC label genuinely originate from certified forests and that any uncertified material has been responsibly sourced*.  STEICO flex 036 and STEICO universal dry are made from wood sourced from PEFC certified forests (PEFC/16-37-1330). 

When would you specify wood fibre insulation?

STEICO is a bio-based product, and may, as such, be ideal for projects with a minimum bio-based content requirement.

STEICO products carry the Kingspan BioKor trustmark which indicate that a product has a minimum of 80% bio-based content.

How is wood fibre insulation made?

Wood fibre insulation is made from wood chips which are milled and dried then put into a mix with binding agent to make a ‘mattress’ of fibre which is then formed into a finished slab or board.
