What is ROCKWOOL DuctWrap used for?

ROCKWOOL DuctWrap is designed for insulating circular ventilation and HVAC ductwork. It provides thermal insulation for air conditioning, warm air and extract ducts and can also be used for water storage tanks.

Is ROCKWOOL DuctWrap suitable for circular ductwork?

Yes. DuctWrap is specifically designed as a flexible insulation roll that can be wrapped around circular ductwork. For square or rectangular ducts, ROCKWOOL DuctSlab is the alternative designed for this application.

Is ROCKWOOL DuctWrap fire resistant?

ROCKWOOL DuctWrap is classified as Euroclass A1, meaning it is classified as non-combustible according to BS EN 13501-1:2018. However, DuctWrap should not be confused with a tested fire-rated duct system; specific fire-resistance requirements should be assessed separately.

What is ROCKWOOL DuctWrap made from?

DuctWrap is manufactured from ROCKWOOL stone wool and has a reinforced aluminium foil facing. The flexible roll format allows it to be wrapped around circular ducts.

What is the thermal conductivity of ROCKWOOL DuctWrap?

ROCKWOOL DuctWrap has a declared thermal conductivity of 0.034 W/mK. The required insulation thickness should be selected according to the application and relevant specification requirements.

What temperature can ROCKWOOL DuctWrap withstand?

DuctWrap is suitable for service temperatures of up to 230°C. ROCKWOOL specifies a limiting outer foil face temperature of 80°C to maintain the facing bond strength.

Can ROCKWOOL DuctWrap help prevent condensation?

Yes. When specified appropriately in accordance with BS 5422:2023, DuctWrap can help prevent condensation forming on chilled ductwork while providing the required thermal insulation.

Does ROCKWOOL DuctWrap provide acoustic insulation?

How is ROCKWOOL DuctWrap installed?
