Vapour Control Layers (VCLs)
(16 products)
Vapour control layers (VCLs) help reduce the movement of moisture vapour from inside a building into walls, roofs and ceilings, where condensation can develop within the construction. Choosing the right VCL depends on the building design, required vapour resistance and whether additional airtightness, reflective or fire-performance properties are needed.
Our range includes vapour control layers from Novia, Tyvek, A. Proctor Group and ITP, covering different construction requirements. Options include polythene VCLs for general vapour control, reinforced membranes for applications requiring greater durability, reflective VCLs for compatible construction systems and fire-rated VCLs where specific fire-performance requirements apply.
VCLs are generally installed on the warm side of the insulation, with joints, overlaps and penetrations sealed using compatible tapes and accessories to maintain the intended air and vapour control performance.
