Description

AIM Open State Cavity Barriers (OSCBs) are made from high-density Rockwool stone wool and feature an intumescent strip, with colour coding for easy identification. These barriers allow necessary ventilation within wall constructions and, in the event of a fire, the intumescent strip activates and expands to fully close the cavity.

AIM OSCBs are designed and tested for use in ventilated rainscreen façades and timber frame constructions, enabling free airflow and drainage. They provide an effective fire barrier for ventilated voids up to 400mm wide. Tested to TGD 19 and the general principles of BS EN 1363-1, they offer a fire rating of up to 120 minutes for both insulation and integrity in ventilated air spaces within the cavity.
