Description

FONODAN 50 is a two-layer acoustic insulation tape designed for use in plasterboard wall systems. It features a high-density self-adhesive bitumen membrane bonded to cross-linked polyethylene, forming an effective decoupling layer between the stud framework and plasterboard. This composition helps reduce airborne noise transmission by absorbing vibration and dampening structural resonance.

The product is commonly used to improve the sound insulation of partition walls and linings in metal frame constructions. Acting as a resilient interface, FONODAN 50 alters the frequency of coincidence and reduces the hollow sound effect, helping to maintain acoustic privacy where it's most needed.

• Metal stud plasterboard systems:
Apply FONODAN 50 to vertical studs and horizontal channels to reduce acoustic bridging between the frame and plasterboard.

• Partition wall upgrades:
Ideal for improving airborne sound insulation in single-panel partition walls or linings using standard metal frameworks.

• Roof structures:
Functions as an anti-resonant strip when applied to metal framing in tiled roof constructions.

Installation process overview:

• Fix the metal channel to floor and ceiling (refer to Danosa Sound Insulation Manual DIV2 / FCH3).
• Position uprights at 40–60 cm intervals based on wall height and board type.
• Adhere the tape directly to the side of channels and studs, pressing it firmly in place after removing the protective plastic.
• Gaps between strips are acceptable as long as the tape remains in contact to absorb vibration.
• Fix plasterboards using screws and seal/tape joints as per board manufacturer’s guidelines.
• For roof or wooden batten applications, follow similar steps ensuring firm contact between the tape and structural elements.
