Important Recommendations:

• Façade cladding must end at the dividing wall between users (SPD 2.1).
• Impact sound insulation must be included where specified (see Sound Insulation Manual sheets AA01–AA04).
• Central heating and water intake installations must be decoupled with cross-linked PE shells (SPD 1.2).
• Do not perforate systems in tertiary or mixed-use buildings (SPD 2.3, SPD 4.4).
• Partition walls: minimum 1 cm plaster (SPD 3) and must not be anchored to structural elements (except where permitted).
• Ceiling dampers: anchor to joists/reinforcement members (SPD 4.2). For heavy ceilings, use a primary/secondary grid system (SPD 4.3).
• Gypsum boards must be fixed to galvanised steel framing only, not plate-to-plate.
• For drywall cladding over 4 m high, use elastic fasteners (SPD 2.5).
