Things you should know about this product!

  • This product is sold by the roll

Description

M.A.D. PRO 70 AA is a bituminous acoustic sheet reinforced with mineral loads and finished with an aluminised coating. Its density provides effective sound insulation across a wide frequency range. The sheet can be applied as an anti-resonant layer, as a flexible interlayer between rigid elements, or as a membrane resonator within spring systems. It also functions as a vapour barrier and demonstrates thermo-reflective behaviour in cavity applications. With a Bs1d0 fire reaction classification, it is well-suited to a variety of industrial and building acoustic solutions.

Specifications

  • Length
    600cm
  • Width
    100cm
  • Fire rating
    Euroclass B

Key Features

  • Adds acoustic mass to lightweight walls for improved performance
  • Shifts resonance frequencies of rigid elements to strengthen insulation
  • Enhances low-frequency sound reduction between insulating layers
  • Reduces cavity depth requirements while maintaining efficiency
  • Adheres to galvanised steel to control panel resonance
  • Provides Bs1d0 fire reaction performance without additional covering
  • Acts as an internal vapour barrier
  • Thermo-reflective in cavities, supporting thermal performance
  • Compatible with perforated or porous finishes and technical wood panelling

Where to use

  • Industrial roofs with acoustic requirements → Adds acoustic mass and controls resonance.
  • Anti-resonant treatment for galvanised steel sheets → Improves sound insulation in industrial applications.
  • Partition walls and ceilings → Installed between plasterboard or other rigid elements for enhanced low-frequency insulation.
  • Spring isolation systems → Improves overall acoustic performance in multi-layer isolation treatments.
  • Cavity applications needing vapour control → Serves as a vapour barrier while delivering acoustic benefits.
  • Wood panelling and perforated finishes → Suitable for acoustic solutions with porous or perforated surface elements.

Important Recommendations:

  • Ensure façade cladding finishes at dividing walls between users (SPD 2.1).
  • Avoid perforations for installations in commercial premises located in tertiary or ground-floor buildings (SPD 2.3, SPD 4.4).
  • Partition walls must be plastered to a minimum of 1 cm thickness (SPD 3).
  • Do not anchor partition walls directly to structural elements, except where permitted. Bond tiling elements to floating partitions for stability.
  • Ceiling dampers should be anchored to floor joists or reinforced structural elements (SPD 4.2).
  • For heavy ceilings, use a grid of primary and secondary profiles to distribute load (SPD 4.3).
  • Always fix gypsum plasterboards to galvanised steel framing — avoid plate-to-plate screws.
  • For drywall cladding over 4 m in height, use elastic fasteners (SPD 2.5).
  • In perforated or cavity applications, position the aluminised side inward to maximise heat reflection.

Frequently asked questions
